Manpreet has graduated with Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology from City University of Seattle in Vancouver, BC in 2013. Prior to her current counselling experience, Manpreet was a family physician in India (for 13 years), where she took it upon herself to not only tend to the medical health needs of patient, but also to their emotional health needs (as such services were not readily available). It was this experience that led her to pursue counselling psychology when she migrated to Canada. These experiences have given her great insight into unique challenges that immigrants with different ethno-cultural backgrounds may face.

Manpreet gained valuable experience at non-profit organizations and had the opportunity to work directly with families, individuals and with homeless population (with mental health and addiction issues) and enabling them discover their own strengths and barriers, and encouraging them to consider change. In one-to-one, couple, family and group settings, Manpreet has collaborated with clients to assess and assist them to achieve optimal mental, psychological, social, spiritual, and physical health.

Manpreet is familiar with evidence-based counselling interventions, including cognitive-behavioural, trauma-focused CBT, person-centred, strength based, motivational interviewing, solution-focused, mindfulness, narrative therapy and addiction counselling.Manpreet's areas of expertise include treating anxiety, depression, post traumatic stress disorder, grief and loss, low self-esteem, and chronic stress. Her role involves providing vocational and rehabilitation counselling to clients recovering from catastrophic accidents, chronic illness, trauma and different life crises.

Manpreet is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with BCACC. She provides counselling in English, Punjabi, Hindi and Urdu.

Deshpal Grewal, MSc, MC, RCC, RRP
Vocational Rehabilitation Consultant
Deshpal Grewal has a Master's Degree in Counselling Psychology from City University of Seattle in Vancouver, BC. He holds a registration with Vocational Rehabilitation Association of Canada as a Registered Rehabilitation Professional (RRP). He is registered with BC Association of Clinical Counsellors as a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC).

Deshpal has experience serving the military for 21 years where he led combat soldiers and motivated them to give their best in the most demanding environment. He has been working in the field of employment counselling and vocational rehabilitation since 2009, supporting clients in leveraging their strengths and using their training and skills to attain their employment goals. He has supported clients in returning to work after experiencing work related and/or motor vehicle accidents that resulted in traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, orthopaedic and soft tissue injuries, as well as depression, anxiety, and other comorbid psychological issues. He uses a biopsychosocial approach in assessing and supporting clients through a strength based vocational rehabilitation process.

Deshpal is connected with the local community and is able to support his clients in English, Punjabi, Hindi, Urdu, and Bengali languages.
