Life Skills Therapy hosted an education day for our OTs and Kinesiologists. Topics covered included return to work, assessment tools, and functional goal setting. A hard day’s work was followed by some fun at the local bowling arena. Check out these pictures from the day:

Amit Kumar, Elizabeth Poon, and Emmeline Chang represented Life Skills Therapy at Health Care Innovations Conference and Tradeshow in Calgary. We are excited to now offer kinesiology/rehab assistant services. Our kinesiologists are fully registered with BCAK and carry comprehensive liability insurance. Our kinesiologists support our own results oriented rehabilitation programs, as well as are available to external organizations. Our kinesiologists/rehab assistants speak Punjabi, Hindi, Serbian, Croatian, and Korean. Services are offered throughout Lower Mainland. Here is a picture of the team:

Amit Kumar was invited as a guest speaker by the organizers of South Asian Health Expo in Surrey. Amit spoke about occupational therapy in bone health at the South Asian Health Expo held on January 26, 2014 in Surrey which was attended by over 200 people. Amit’s article on Occupational Therapy in Falls Prevention was published in the 3rd edition of South Asian Health Magazine. Well done Amit! Here are some pictures from the health expo:

Hooray!! Life Skills Therapy was declared Business Excellence Award Winner 2013 in new business of the year category last evening in a wonderful event organized by the Surrey Board of Trade (SBOT). We are honored to receive this award and would like to thank SBOT for this honor; and to our staff for the wonderful work over the past two years. Life Skills Therapy successfully hosted a one day workshop on Working with Stroke Survivors: How to maximize their Potential on November 2. It was presented by Amit Kumar, OT and Erin Reeds, Physiotherapist. 25 rehabilitation professionals attended this workshop.

Life Skills Therapy is organizing a one day workshop on "Working with Stroke Survivors: How to Maximize their Potential" for care workers, rehab assistants, kinesiologists, physiotherapy and occupational therapy students who want to learn and improve their basic handling skills to ensure a safe therapeutic environment for stroke survivors.
