Catherine Taylor, BHK
Practicing Kinesiologist; Certified Matheson FCE Evaluator

Catherine graduated from The University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Human Kinetics specializing in Exercise Physiology and Psychology. During her studies at the University, she engaged in research with respect to the benefits of health/fitness for different populations (healthy vs. ailing). Most notably, she assisted Dr. Ted Rhodes with pre-season fitness testing of the Vancouver Canucks’ athletes to assess VO2Max (aerobic capacity), anaerobic conditioning, body composition and general fitness levels of players. Additionally, she researched the physiological and psychological benefits of interactive gaming stationary bicycles with Dr. Darren Warburton.

Catherine’s career includes several years within the legal background and several years’ experience working as a Kinesiologist and as a Matheson® Certified FCE Evaluator. Her clinical career allows the assessment of movement impairments as a result of work related or motor-vehicle related injuries. She applies current active rehabilitation techniques to effect individualized therapy and keeps abreast of the latest technology via her association with the American College of Sports Medicine. Her legal career provides accurate functional capacity report writing which is used in personal injury litigation.

Catherine is an avid fitness enthusiast herself having earned several gold and silver medals in British Columbia DanceSport, a Brown Belt in Taekwondo and currently studies Argentine Tango and West Coast Swing. She is an active member of the American College of Sports Medicine and continually seeks the latest research in all areas of health, wellbeing and fitness.

Jas Hayre, Kinesiologist
B.Kin, BCAK Certified

Jas obtained a Bachelor of Kinesiology from University of Fraser Valley. Jas has also successfully completed a Sports Science diploma through Douglas College and an Urban Poling certificate. He specializes in muscle balancing, aqua therapy, isometric resistance training, corrective kinetics and proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation.

Jas serves clients in Surrey, White Rock, Delta, Langley, and New Westminster. Jas speaks fluent Punjabi.

In his spare time, Jas enjoys swimming, basketball, football, and traveling.

Iris Popovski, Practicing Kinesiologist

Iris graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor of Kinesiology from the University of British Columbia and is now a registered Kinesiologist through the BC Association of Kinesiologists. Iris also successfully completed her Diploma in Human Kinetics from Langara College in 2009, with a strong interest in anatomy and physiology. During her studies, she worked with clients with a wide range of physical disabilities, implementing personal care services and assisting with activities of daily living; as well as promoting and maintaining physical, psychological and social wellbeing.

Iris is currently studying to obtain her Personal Training certification so she can share her passion for fitness and health alongside her love for helping people improve their function and gain their independence.

In her spare time, Iris enjoys working out, cooking, travelling and being outdoors. She speaks conversational Serbian and Croatian.

Laurel Jacob, Kinesiologist

Laurel recently graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Kinesiology. She is also an ACSM certified personal trainer and has experience planning and implementing exercise programs.

While in school, Laurel volunteered at a physiotherapy clinic and worked with clients with a variety of disabilities to help them improve the quality of their movements and reach their goals. In addition, she has worked with clients with acquired brain injuries as a rehabilitation care worker to promote their independence with day-to-day tasks. Her goal is to gain as much knowledge and experience as she can in order to be able to help people effectively.

Laurel’s passion for health and fitness began when she started gymnastics as a kid and consequently moved on to coaching. In her spare time she enjoys dance, drawing, and painting.

Jeff Huynh, Kinesiologist

Jeff graduated from University of the Fraser Valley with a Bachelor’s of Kinesiology and a minor in Psychology. He is a fully registered Kinesiologist with BC Association of Kinesiologists.

Upon graduating from university, Jeff has worked in aquatic rehabilitation working with a variety of clinical and non-clinical populations. He has worked with a variety of different demographics and is both ready and excited to help you on your road to recovery. Most recently he completed an internship in the community furthering his knowledge in creating and implementing rehabilitation programs. Jeff has volunteer experience with different organizations such as Canucks Autism Network, and Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder Club.

Jeff promotes an active lifestyle and his interests include basketball, hiking, and resistance training.

Amara Miles, Practicing Kinesiologist

Amara recently graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Human Kinetics and a Minor in Psychology. She is also a CFES Group Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer, and enjoys working in individual and small group settings to help set and achieve health and wellness goals.

While in University, she completed a practicum at Kelowna General Hospital, where she got to work alongside a Physiotherapist and Respiratory Therapist in developing exercise programs for people with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. This furthered her passion in rehabilitation, conditioning, and maintenance of chronic diseases. Her volunteer work with the Special Olympics of British Columbia and the Canadian National Institute for the Blind is another passion of hers that she has a high level of care and respect for.

In her spare time, Amara loves being outdoors, and enjoys hiking, kayaking, and yoga.

Jason Bhangu, Practicing Kinesiologist

Jason recently graduated from University of Fraser Valley with a Bachelor’s of Kinesiology and a minor in Psychology. He is fully registered with BC Association of Kinesiologists. During his studies, Jason volunteered with a physiotherapy clinic and worked with clients from wide variety of disabilities and demographics in order to help them achieve their goals. Following his passion of health and fitness, Jason recently worked with individuals in regards to their goals of obtaining a healthy lifestyle and continues to improve his knowledge on all areas in health and fitness. Jason also continues to work with variety of clients who have experienced trauma and attempts to empower these individuals through emotional support, information and practical assistance.

Jason's interests include competitive power lifting and boxing, in his spare time he enjoys working on and riding motorcycles.

Jason speaks fluent Punjabi.

Edwin Dutt, Rehabilitation Assistant
Edwin successfully completed a Rehabilitation Therapy Assistant Diploma at CDI College in 2008. He has experience working with a wide range of clients including older adults, children, clients recovering from neurological impairments, and clients with mental health issues. He has experience implementing physical and cognitive rehabilitation, and gradual return to work programs for ICBC and WorkSafeBC clients.

Edwin is fluent in Hindi and Punjabi.
